Family Favorites Friday: Easy Homemade Pizza

I need to apologize.  I thought I had already shared this easy recipe with you, but discovered I hadn't when a friend recently asked me for the recipe and I was going to send her a link.  I am so sorry, y'all.  You need this recipe for Easy Homemade Pizza.

Why do you need this recipe?

1.  The crust is super easy to make and doesn't need to rise = quick.

2.  It makes  3 large pizzas = enough for everybody and maybe leftovers.

3.  Your children can help = fun family activity.

4.  It is inexpensive to make = save money.

We have made this recipe so many times that all my children can, and do, make this often.

PIZZA CRUST
2 tablespoons yeast  (I buy it in bulk from Sam's Club- so much cheaper this way)
2 cups very warm water  (don't get it too hot, it will kill your yeast)
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 tsp salt
5.5 - 6 cups flour
3 cloves crushed garlic (optional)

Dissolve yeast in water, whisk in sugar.  Let bubble a bit and add oil, salt, and garlic.  Mix in 3 cups of flour (I use whisk).  Stir in enough remaining flour to make smooth dough.  Dough will be slightly sticky.  You do not need to let the dough rise, but you can if you want to and have time.

no rise pizza dough

Divide dough into thirds and roll each section onto greased pizza pan (mine are about 14").  If you don't have a  Dough Roller that will roll on the pizza pan, you can form the crust with your hands.

Top the rolled dough with sauce.
I make my sauce by mixing 1 teaspoon of Italian Seasoning with 8 ounces of tomato sauce.

Add shredded mozzarella cheese over sauce.

Add other toppings of your choice- meat, veggies, etc.

Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for about 15-20 minutes.

Enjoy!

The dough could also be used for breadsticks, stromboli, or french bread (let rise).  It can be frozen before cooked or after it is shaped and cooked.  It is just versatile like that.

Friday night was pizza night at our house for many years.  Now, you can easily start a Friday night pizza night tradition.
